The Secondary Art School Attached to Nanjing University of the Arts is flexible in using talents. Due to its nature of being “state-owned, privately-run”, the Secondary Art School Attached to Nanjing University of the Arts receives no funds from the state and has to build the school and cultivate talents relying on the established charging policies. All of its teachers are carefully examined and selected from among the best candidates, subject to a strict system of appointment, and will be fired if they are not good enough in a dynamic assessment process. Advanced institutions have filled the school with vigor and created a highly-capable team of teachers. “Three integrations of statuses” are adopted among teachers (professional and cultural teachers, head-teachers and life teachers, and college teachers and middle school teachers). College teachers are learned while middle school teachers are usually with a solid foundation. They may complement each other while giving play to their respective advantages.

The Secondary Art School Attached to Nanjing University of the Arts implements “three managements”, referring to the “comprehensive management” over its students’ moral character, behavioral habits, learning methods and physical and mental development; the “24h/d management” over its students’ daily life, housekeeping, professional training, cultural studies, early and evening individual learning and physical exercises; and the “crew management” where the head teachers, life tutors, classroom teachers, staff and workers build up the awareness of educating students and fulfill their responsibility of educating students. The school also pays special attention to the cultivation of the self-education, self-management, self-service and self-restraint abilities of its students and has formed such good school morals as being “honest, civilized, diligent and creative”.

The Secondary Art School Attached to Nanjing University of the Arts is guided by the philosophy of stimulating its students’ creative potential and guiding them to success, runs the school in accordance with law, manages the school in a scientific manner, and tries hard to build the school into a model of quality education and a cradle of art talents.
