Kong Liuqing

Kong Liuqing, male, Han Nationality, born in city of Wu Xi of Jiangsu Province in 1955 with family origin in Qi Qiao Town of Gaochun County; Professor, Doctoral Supervisor in Nanjing University of the Arts; got admitted in the Department of Fine Arts of Nanjing University of the Arts in 1978 and studied Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School under the supervision of Professor Li Changbai, and joined the faculty in 1982; pursued doctoral degree under the supervision of Professor Zhou Jiyin in 2000 (for History of Chinese Painting), and graduated with Doctoral Degree in 2003; now is member of Chinese Artists Association, Deputy Editor-in-chief of editorial board of Special History of Chinese Painting Art, Head of Research Team of  Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School of Jiangsu Provincial Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School Research Institute, CPPCC Standing Committee Member of Nanjing. Discipline and Specialty: Theory of Fine Arts. Main Research Interests: Chinese Fine Art History, Flower-and-Bird Painting creating. The years from 1994 to 2004 are the ten years only for academic research on history of Chinese Flower-and-Bird Painting and nearly isolated from friends and outside world; therefore, named himself as Owner of Wu Shi Ju, Owner of Xu Jing Zhai.

Tens of papers are published on major academic journals of Fine Arts, Art and Design, National Palace Museum (Monthly), Journal of Ceramics and etc.

Published painting albums: Blossom of Four Seasons: Kong Liuqing Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School Works Exhibiton (Taiwan You Mingtang Culture Co., Ltd, 1994) Kong Liuqing Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School Works Collection (Jiangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, 2004); attended several National Art Exhibitions from 1985 to 1989; attended the 1990 Exhibition of Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting. Hosted Personal Flower-and-Bird Painting of Gongbi School Exhibitions Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting in Beijing, Taichung City Cultural Center, Dalian Modern Museum respectively in 1990, 1994, 2008.

Social impact: China Pictorial made global introduction in various foreign languages with the title of “Rising Star in Jinling Painting Field” in 1991. Huayi Press published Archives of Contemporary Chinese Artists• Kong Liuqing in 2005; selected in Series Books of Contemporary Chinese Paintings• Xu Yuan Qing He compiled by Chinese National Academy of Painting in 2006; International channel of CCTV took feature of Contemporary Chinese Artists• Kong Liuqing in 2007; works are collected by Chinese National Academy of Painting, Nanjing Museum, Jiangsu Art Gallery and other state-owned professional units.
