NUA Got Another Good News from Sound Academy Awards Competition |
The online award ceremony for the sixth Sound Academy Awards hosted by the China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers came to an end the other day. Recording Arts majors at the School of Media Arts and Communication of NUA won 10 awards this year, including three first, two second and five third prizes, ranked third in the most awarded. In particular, the animated short film Paddy ranked top in the first prize of the animated short film section, achieving the zero breakthrough in this section. In addition, faculty members Fan Ling, Huang Yuegu and Gao Jie from the Department of Recording Arts of the School of Media Arts and Communication won the Outstanding Instructor Award at the 6th "Sound Academy Awards". NUA was the winner of the Outstanding Institution Organization Award. Established in 2015, the Awards of the China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers is the highest-level award of sound art for Chinese universities. It has been successfully held five times in Beijing Film Academy, Communication University of China, Nanjing University of the Arts and Communication University of Shanxi. The event aims to strengthen cultivation of sound art professionals, encourage college students to actively participate in creation, and integrate academic teaching with industry development. The Awards had a distinguished panel of judges, including industry and university experts from CCTV, State Production Base of China Film Group, August First Film Studio, China Television Production Center, China National Symphony Orchestra, National Centre for the Performing Arts and so forth. A number of colleges and universities selected their best works for the competition, including Beijing Film Academy, Communication University of China, Nanjing University of the Arts, Central Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Capital Normal University, and Shanghai Theatre Academy. This year's Awards has helped to promote teaching and creation of NUA's sound arts and expand NUA's influence and popularity in the sound art field in China.
