Promoting Party history learning and education and being led by core socialist values, all universities participating in the Show have deeply explored stories of school history and culture, representative figures and outstanding alumni. The stories, taking drama as the manifestation pattern, highlight young students under leadership of the Party being bold in innovating, being ready to make sacrifices, striving for excellence as well as their love for the Party and the people, boundless ambition and spirit of youth and vigor, which leads to the emergence of a wide range of excellent theatrical works with time, local, campus characteristics and features of university students.

Under the guidance of the spirit of the important speech by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a major conference of artists and writers, the original poetic dance drama Anecdotes of Nanjing has been created by the School of Dance of NUA integrating into the play the history of Nanjing's founding, folk culture, social hot news, anecdotes, major historical events, and the spirit of Nanjing in the new era. Under the theme of promoting Jiangsu culture, telling Nanjing stories, the performance has recreated the transformation and development of Nanjing in its thousand-year history and captivated the attention of Jiangsu Literature and Art Review, xuexi.cn, Zijin Culture and Art, and other major media outlets.

The poetic dance drama Anecdotes of Nanjing , experiencing three-year rehearsal and elaboration since the premiere at the end of 2019, was listed as an expanded project of ‘Elegant Arts into Campus in Jiangsu Province’ by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Department of Finance in 2020, supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Arts Fund for Small Stage Plays or Programs in 2021, and staged at the University Students Drama Show of 2021 Jiangsu Zijin Culture and Art Festival, the 2021 520 Arts Carnival of NUA and other special occasions, receiving wide public attention and praise.
