On November 16, 2024, the 3rd Audio-visual China Academic Frontier Forum Successfully Concluded at NUA was successfully held at the NUA Art Museum. This event was jointly organized by NUA Academic Research Department, the Audiovisual Art Research Center of Communication University of China, the Fudan University National Center for Cultural Innovation Research, and the School of Media Arts and Communication of NUA. The forum brought together experts and scholars from several institutions, including Peking University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, and Nanjing University of the Arts. Industry leaders from major platforms such as iQIYI, Youku, Douyin, Bilibili, and Mango TV also participated. The discussions focused on two primary themes: “The Construction and Reflection of a Video Society” and “Chinese Storytelling in a Video Society”. The forum examined the influence of a video-centric society on contemporary sociocultural forms, as well as its cutting-edge issues and future development trends. During the opening ceremony, Vice President Zhang Jie underscored NUA’s efforts to embrace the digital wave and foster the deep integration of emerging technologies with art education. The forum also featured the launch of the bookVideo Society. The successful hosting of this forum facilitated meaningful exchanges between academia and industry, marking a significant step forward in the research and practice centered on video society.
