Celebratory Symphony Concert Marks the 112th Anniversary of Nanjing University of the Arts

On the evening of December 8, 2024, Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA) proudly  hosted a symphony concert to commemorate the 112th anniversary. Under the baton  of conductors Xu Zhiliang, Ju Yun, and Zou Qingyu, NUA’s symphony orchestra  delivered a captivating performance. The repertoire for the concert includes John  Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare”, the first movement from Schubert’s Symphony No.  8 or the “Unfinished Symphony”, Wang Xilin’s “Torch Festival”, Holst’s “Jupiter,  the Bringer of Jollity” from “The Planets”, Tchaikovsky’s “Pas de Deux”,  Professor Zang Heng’s composition “The Power of Faith”, the second movement  from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 or the “Pathétique Symphony”, and the  fourth movement of Shostakovich’s “Fifth Symphony”. The concert concluded  with encore performances of “Blooming Flowers and Full Moon” and the “Radetzky  March”. The concert elicited enthusiastic responses from the audience on site and  attracted over 20,000 viewers tuning in to the live stream online.
