On June 6, 2025, a delegation from Troy University (USA) led by Executive Vice Chancellor Agboatwala Sohall Ahmed visited Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA). Professor Zhang Jie, Vice President of NUA, received the guests. Representatives from the School of Media and Communication, the School of Cultural Industries, the School of International Education, and the Office of International Exchange also participated in the reception. During the meeting, Vice President Zhang Jie warmly welcomed the Troy University delegation and reviewed the fruitful outcomes of past collaborations between the two institutions. He provided a detailed introduction to NUA’s disciplinary structure and academic strengths and expressed NUA’s strong interest in deepening its partnership with Troy University. Executive Vice Chancellor Agboatwala Sohall Ahmed praised NUA’s scale and innovation in arts education, highlighted the distinctive features of Troy University’s business and media programs, and proposed launching joint degree programs in multiple disciplines. He also expressed interest in exploring short-term exchanges, summer workshops, and other flexible modes of cooperation to encourage students’ participation in cross-cultural learning experiences. Subsequently, leaders from the School of Media and Communication, the School of Cultural Industries, and the School of International Education each introduced their academic programs and shared perspectives on potential collaboration. The discussion centered on international educational cooperation, joint program development, and student exchange initiatives. The goal was to foster deeper, more substantive collaboration between NUA and Troy University across fields such as the arts and business, support global talent cultivation, and inject new vitality into the partnership. Both sides look forward to building an innovative platform for Sino-American collaboration in higher education, inspired and connected through the arts. |
